I received my undergraduate teacher training at Messiah College where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. I have taught both preschool and kindergarten children in private and public schools. My husband Bob and I have four children. In addition to teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, scrapbooking, and owning a small business. I have always loved children and especially enjoy their process of learning and discovering the world around them. I am pleased to have the privilege to share in your child’s learning here at St. John’s Preschool.

Before teaching at St. John’s Preschool, I studied Elementary Education at Kutztown University and taught second grade at St. Patrick’s School. My name is Laura Powers and I have been teaching with St. John’s Preschool since 2018. I have my BS in Elementary Education with a minor in Reading from Shippensburg University. I spent several years teaching first grade and kindergarten. My husband and I have two boys, one in high school and one in elementary school. I have always enjoyed working with children and knew from a young age that I wanted to be a teacher. In my free time, I love to read, bake, and dabble in crafts like crochet and cross stitch. I am honored to be a part of the teaching team at St. John’s Preschool.
